Pittsburgh interns help preserve local trails through community service project

Covestro summer interns in Pittsburgh recently partnered with Allegheny County Parks for a hands-on volunteer project focused on preserving and enhancing local outdoor spaces.
During the trail maintenance day at Settlers Cabin Park's Waterfall Trail, interns helped with important conservation activities, including drain cleaning, trail corridor clearing and invasive species removal. These efforts help improve trail safety and accessibility while supporting the long-term health of the park's natural environment.
The work also contributes to broader ecological goals outlined in the Settlers Cabin Park Ecological Assessment and Action Plan by helping reduce erosion, improve stormwater management and protect the surrounding ecosystem.
The volunteer experience provided interns with an opportunity to connect with the local community while making a meaningful environmental impact.
